Join us for the Mayor's proclamation, proclaiming Transgender Day of Remembrance as a recognized day of remembrance in Hagerstown, Maryland. Let the city know that we care about our transgender citizens by attending this proclamation. Numbers make a statement so please attend if able, and be sure to attend the vigil on the square at 6pm the same evening. City Hall, second floor in Council Chambers. Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR), which occurs annually on November 20, is a day to remember those who have been murdered as a result of transphobia (the hatred or fear of transgender and gender non-conforming people), and a community effort to bring attention to the continued violence endured by the transgender community, and ultimately to help bring an end to this violence and misunderstanding.
